Our Final Heraldic Stop in Mondsee, Austria


Our final coat of arms from Mondsee, Austria is this carved achievement of arms is located above the entrance of Schloss Mondsee (the former Mondsee Abbey).


This stone carving is the historic coat of arms belonging to the Princes of Wrede, a German princely family originating in Bavaria.

The blazon is: Or a chaplet of roses proper on a canton azure a sword erect proper. The motto on the belt encircling the shield reads: Virtuti pro patria (Power for the country).
